Zuckerberg slams Apple for unfair competition

The CEO of Meta (recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned; formerly Facebook) Mark Zuckerberg criticized Apple’s policy regarding application control. Mr. Zuckerberg believes that Apple intends to unilaterally control what programs users install.

“If you look at the major computing platforms that exist — Windows, Android, iOS … — then Apple stands apart as the only one where one company controls which applications end up on the device,” he said during the DealBook Summit conference (quoted by RIA News”).

According to Mr. Zuckerberg, the vast majority of profits in the mobile ecosystem go to Apple, as the company’s policy is to control the applications that users install.

Earlier, Apple was criticized by the head of Twitter Elon Musk. Mr. Musk said that Apple “hates free speech” and threatened to remove the social network from its store, without explaining the reasons. However, Apple CEO Tim Cook assured entrepreneur that the removal of the Twitter app from the App Store was not planned.
