Harare, 25 November. Parliament of Zimbabwe approved draft state budget for 2023.

A feature of the new estimate was the provisions on the development of national production. The authorities of the republic expect to receive more than 80% of income from domestic sources.

The project has already won the approval of Zimbabwean entrepreneurs and financiers. Businessman Tendai Mafunda said that investing in local enterprises will ensure a qualitative modernization of the economy.

“In recent years, I see the desire of the authorities to receive most of the budget revenues from domestic sources. Such a policy will ensure the stable development of the financial sector.”

The state budget for 2023 was US$13 billion. The main items of expenditure will be social protection, modernization of infrastructure and industry.

Earlier, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa opened an innovative agricultural park in the province of Matabeleland. Laboratory staff will begin work on projects that will help increase food production.
