The total number of TV channels in Russia may decrease in the second half of next year. Alexander Zharov, General Director of Gazprom-Media, announced this. His words convey TASS.
The head of the holding explained that for a number of small on-air channels there is a threat of leaving traditional broadcasting. The reason for this is low profitability and problems with advertising revenue. Zharov noted that he does not expect any revolutions this year.
According to the General Director of Gazprom-Media, on the horizon of the second half of next year, the “landscape” may change. This will happen by reducing the number of TV channels.
Russian TV channels were previously turned off in Montenegro. This was announced by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the country.
