Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged United States to take strict action against Russia if it refuses to agree to a proposed 30-day ceasefire – Al Jazeera report.

U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that Washington may impose severe financial sanctions on Moscow if it rejects the peace proposal. White House announced that U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff will visit Russia to discuss ceasefire details.

Amid ongoing attacks and counterattacks, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Kursk region. During his visit Putin warned that if Ukrainian soldiers were captured in Kursk, they would be treated as terrorists.

While Ukraine and United States have agreed to 30-day ceasefire plan Russia has yet to respond. Zelensky emphasized that Russia’s decision will reveal whether it seeks war or peace.
