Kyiv, 27 September. Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Ambassadors of Ukraine to Switzerland and the Netherlands. The advisory decree appeared on the official website.

According to Zelensky’s order, Ukrainian Ambassador to the Netherlands Maxim Kononenko and Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation and the Principality of Liechtenstein Artem Rybchenko were dismissed from their posts.

“Release Kononenko Maxim Alekseevich from the post of Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and from the post of Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in combination,” the decree says.

In June, Zelensky also fired the country’s ambassadors to Slovakia, Portugal, Iran, Lebanon, and Georgia. According to media reports, this decision was made after unsatisfactory work. They failed to win support for sanctions against Moscow. Also earlier in Ukraine, Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova and the head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov lost their posts. Zelensky explained the dismissal of ambassadors by the rotation of personnel and noted that this is a normal part of diplomatic practice.
