Zelensky demanded “significant financial assistance” from Europe

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Europe should provide significant financial assistance to Ukraine without bureaucratic blockages.

Zelensky again reminded his allies of Ukraine’s budget deficit, which is about five million dollars a month. In addition, he stressed, the country needs to be restored.

“A country that blocks funding for Ukraine must urgently fix this problem … We need finance for Ukraine in sufficient quantities and without any bureaucratic blockages,” he said during a speech at a conference of Ukraine’s allies from the Nordic countries.

The Ukrainian president also once again stated the need to “support Kyiv even more with weapons and shells.”

On August 5, Zelensky accused the European Union of artificially delaying an eight billion euro macro-financial aid to Kyiv. At the same time, he refused to name the country that slows down this process. In his opinion, this is a “mistake” that should be corrected soon. At the same time, the deputy head of Zelensky’s office Igor Zhovkva said that Germany was blocking the consideration of the issue of providing assistance to Ukraine.
