President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the UN Security Council to give Kyiv collective security guarantees. He made such a statement at a meeting of the Security Council.
“Ukraine must receive clear and legally binding guarantees of collective security,” Zelensky said in a video message.
The politician noted that the world community needs a similar security architecture that would be in line with Ukraine’s global role and urged to continue providing Kyiv with military and financial support.
Earlier, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia.
