The Pentagon has $5.2 billion at its disposal to provide assistance to Ukraine. Given the current level of expenditure, these funds will still be enough for six months. This was reported by representatives of the American military department.

“Fund balances [5,2 миллиарда долларов] allocated to support Ukraine a year ago. Thus, in the near future, Kyiv is not threatened with a cessation of military supplies due to disputes over the budget law in the United States,” reports newspaper The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed representatives of the US military department. This budget may be enough for another six months to provide assistance to Ukraine.

According to them, there is a possibility that the current situation could affect planning. They clarified that this money will not be enough to finance the operations of Ukrainian forces until the next budget is adopted.

Earlier, on September 29, the United States began preparing for a temporary government shutdown from October 1. The reason for this was controversy among Republicans. Colleagues demanded a $120 million reduction in US government spending by 2024. As a result, US President Joe Biden approved a draft budget for 45 days, but the document did not include Kyiv’s support for this period.
