The company claims that most of the sellers have acknowledged the use of gray promotion schemes and are ready to cooperate with the investigation.

Yesterday, May 12, Wildberries announced the disclosure of a gray advertising scheme through a Telegram bot that allowed sellers to run advertising campaigns for free. As a result, the marketplace suffered damage of 650 million rubles. The company applied to the investigating authorities with a statement about initiating a criminal case on an especially large scale.

On the same day, a group of sellers came to the main office of the marketplace near the Avtozavodskaya metro station in Moscow. The representative of the protesting sellers, lawyer Alexandra Baksheeva, said that on the night of May 11, about 2 billion rubles were written off from suppliers. for “certain advertising services.” The press service of Wildberries reported that their marketplace support service communicates with protesting sellers at the office. The media wrote that the company’s employees also conducted a survey of sellers. In the evening, eight police cars arrived at the building on Avtozavodskaya.
