Hogwarts Legacy game received high ratings from users and critics around the world
One of the most anticipated games of the year, Hogwarts Legacy based on the story of Harry Potter, was released on February 10 and immediately began to break all sorts of records. The massive action-RPG takes users 100 years before the events of the Harry Potter books and films to the end of the 19th century. But lovers of the universe will not be disappointed – the game has retained familiar places and some characters. However, the creators did not rely on this – they tried to bribe the players with the atmosphere.
According to the plot, a new student appears at Hogwarts. He is already 15 years old, and his talent as a wizard manifested itself somewhat late, so the hero is enrolled immediately in the fifth year. He will have to uncover the secrets of ancient magic and defeat the villains – the goblin Ranrok and the dark magician Victor Rukvud.

Breaking records from the first day of release
Immediately after the release, Hogwarts Legacy hit the top 10 most popular games on Steam – the peak online game on the first day reached 693,000 users. The game ranked ninth in polarity among all games on the platform. According to another criterion – the current online – Hogwarts Legacy is in second place.
It also set the all-time single-player viewership record on Twitch and had a better start in UK retail than Elden Ring.
On which consoles to play and when will it appear in Russia
The game is currently available on Windows platforms, as well as on current generation consoles – PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The release of the game for the previous generation consoles – PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – will take place on April 4. Nintendo Switch owners will be able to play Hogwarts Legacy only after July 25 this year.
In Russia, the release date of the long-awaited game is still unknown. Earlier, Izvestia, citing retailers, reported that Russians would be able to buy Hogwarts Legacy already “at the end of February or early March.”
Marketplaces Wildberries and Ozon have already announced sales since the end of February. It is noted that such a difference with the world release is due to logistical problems – the discs will arrive in Russia through Turkey, and not through the EU countries.

High ratings, but not quite unambiguous reviews
In general, critics gave the game positive ratings. For example, the aggregator Metacritic gave versions for different platforms from 83 to 90 points out of 100. Foreign gaming sites also highly appreciated Hogwarts Legacy. Game Informer rated it 9 out of 10, GameRevolution – 6 out of 10, GameStar – 78 out of 100.
The Russian sites 3DNews and PlayGround.ru gave the game a score of 8.5 out of 10.
According to the reviewer “Kinopoisk” Marat Shabaev, the popularity of the game is caused, first of all, by the long-won love of millions of people for the universe about the wizard boy.
“If the developers created an original game about magic in a completely new setting, then few people would talk about it. And all because behind the pleasant shell of Hogwarts Legacy lies an ordinary action-RPG, which has nothing to surprise fans of the genre, ”he wrote.
Russian magazine columnist “Gambling addiction” Vladimir Makarov also noted that the game was created primarily for fans of the JK Rowling universe. Among the advantages of the game, he noted the atmosphere, sound design, flying on a broomstick and “a world that you want to explore.” He attributed the too simple plot, flat characters and the same type of tasks to the minuses.
Feedback from players mostly coincides with the opinion of critics. There are both positive and disappointing responses.
