Facebook-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp keeps on introducing new features to its users. But now it is reported that WhatsApp has removed an important feature from its platform. Here it is about the WhatsApp Messenger Rooms feature. This feature was launched in May 2020, allowing users to create a group of 50 participants on Facebook Messenger in a very short time. It is worth noting that this feature was first rolled out on Instagram and then it was brought to WhatsApp. With the introduction of this feature, Android users of WhatsApp were able to create or join rooms through WhatsApp itself.

Reasons to remove WhatsApp Messenger Rooms
A report by WhatsApp tracker site WABetaInfo states that the WhatsApp Messenger Rooms shortcut has been removed from the chat share sheet for both iOS and Android versions of the app. The report claims that due to the introduction of another shortcut, this shortcut has been removed. When the company monitored this feature, it came to know that very few people are using it.
The report revealed that the WhatsApp beta version for iOS 184.108.40.206 and Android beta version 220.127.116.11 were seen without the WhatsApp Messenger Rooms shortcut in the chat share screen. This suggests that the messaging platform may disable this feature with these versions.

After the removal of the Messenger Rooms shortcut from these chat menus on WhatsApp, users will now be able to see shortcuts to documents, camera, gallery, audio and contacts. Users can tap on these to share data and information with their contacts. Additionally, WhatsApp has introduced a new feature on the latest iOS beta version, which allows users to quickly set an emoji or sticker as a group icon when creating a temporary group. This feature will prove to be very useful when creating a group for a temporary such as a birthday party or an event.
