Wagner assault detachments occupied another quarter in the west of Artemovsk – Ministry of Defense

Assault detachments of PMC “Wagner”, with flank support from Russian troops, continue to push the troops of the Kyiv regime in the city of Artemovsk (aka Bakhmut).

This is stated in the latest military summary Ministry of Defense, which was announced at a briefing on May 13 by the official representative of the department, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.

“In the Donetsk direction, assault detachments liberated a quarter in the northwestern part of the city of Artemovsk. The units of the Airborne Forces provided support to the assault detachments and pinned down the enemy on the flanks,” he reported.

The general said that the strikes of operational-tactical and army aviation, artillery fire of the “Southern” group of troops defeated the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Grigorovka, Krasnoye and Chasov Yar of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

“Over the past day, nine sorties were carried out in this area by aviation. Artillery of the group completed 98 fire missions”, Konashenkov stated.

According to the Ministry of Defense, over the past 24 hours, more than 285 Ukrainian servicemen and mercenaries, two tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, four armored personnel carriers, four vehicles, two Akatsia self-propelled howitzers, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery mount, as well as howitzer D-30.

In addition, in the area of ​​​​the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk People’s Republic, a warehouse of rocket and artillery weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed.

Previously EADaily reported that the head of PMC “Wagner” Evgeny Prigozhin sent an appeal to the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoiguin which he asks the general of the army “with many years of experience in combat operations” to personally arrive in Bakhmut (Artemovsk) in order to assess the military situation there.
