Serbian authorities announced a meeting between President Aleksandar Vučić and representatives of the Quinta (USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy) against the background of the aggravation of the situation in Kosovo. During the day there will also be meetings with Ambassador of Russia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko and Ambassador of China Chen Bo. Contacts will take place on the morning and afternoon of 30 May.
The details of the meetings, as well as their topics, are not specified. They will take place against the background of a serious aggravation in the north of Kosovo, populated mainly by Serbs. Serbia considers the territory of the republic partially recognized in the world as its own.
Thousands of Kosovo Serbs gathered the day before, May 29, in front of local government buildings demanding the withdrawal of the Kosovo police and the recall of the Kosovo Albanian mayors. Near the buildings of the municipalities of Zvechan, Leposavich and Zubin Potok, the forces of the NATO KFOR mission with special equipment were deployed. There were clashes. More than 50 Serbs and more than 40 KFOR fighters, mostly Hungarians and Italians, were injured.
