Minister of Justice of Turkey Bekir Bozdag stated that the second round of presidential elections began without violations. He also stressed that high voter turnout is expected.

More than 191 thousand ballot boxes have been installed in the country, and 60 million 721 thousand citizens have the right to support one of the candidates. Bozdag said that he had already filled out his ballot and put it in the ballot box.

“I am for a stable, peaceful future of our country. According to the information received so far, no negative situation has been registered since the beginning of the second round, I expect high activity,” the minister said.

Today, the citizens of the country will choose a new president from two candidates. The first is the incumbent head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan from the Justice and Development Party (AKP), the second – a single candidate from six opposition parties Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Polling stations opened their doors at 8:00 am local time (coincides with Moscow time). The results of the second round of elections will be known an hour after the completion of voting. This was stated in an interview with Hurriyet newspaper Ali Ihsan Yavuzdeputy chairman of the ruling AKP.
