In the Kherson region, after flooding as a result of the destruction of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, a vaccination campaign was launched to prevent the possible spread of infection. This was stated by the Acting Governor of the region Vladimir Saldo.
As reported by “Parliamentskaya Gazeta”, the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed as a result of rocket fire from the armed forces of Ukraine on the night of June 6. This led to an uncontrolled discharge of water, which caused flooding of settlements in the region. Against the backdrop of what happened, experts noted that various diseases could spread in the region.
“Now we need vaccinations for both hepatitis and possible infectious diseases that may appear now. There are medical teams, they are working, vaccinations have already begun, ”said Saldo on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
According to him, a lot of work remains to be done in the region, given that there are protected areas downstream of the Dnieper, in which many birds can spread infections. “I am monitoring the situation, we are working together, a specially created headquarters is in charge of all these processes,” the acting governor concluded.
