The debates between US Vice Presidential candidates did not reveal clear winner—Republican JD Vance slightly outperformed his Democratic opponent Tim Ryan. But within margin of error, according to surveys conducted by American television channels.
According to CNN survey, 51% of respondents named Vance the winner of the debates, while 49% supported Ryan. At the same time, 37% of those surveyed believe that Ryan did a better job defending his party’s presidential candidate, while 33% hold a similar view about Vance’s performance.
Survey also shows that only 1% of respondents changed their minds about whom they should support in the upcoming presidential elections.
CNN survey was conducted on October 1 among 574 registered voters who watched debates. The margin of error is 5.3 percentage points.
Similar results shown by CBS News survey: 42% of respondents believe that Republican won debates, while 41% awarded the victory to the Democrat. Remaining 17% of respondents were unable to give a definitive assessment.

Debates between Vance and Ryan took place on CBS. The hosts asked the politicians about the Middle East conflict in light of Iran’s attack on Israel, inquired about aspects of the candidates’ domestic policy programs, particularly economy and issue of abortions.
But no time found for Ukraine in the 1.5-hour debates. Neither candidate mentioned Kyiv in their speeches.
However, both candidates mentioned Russian President Vladimir Putin.
US presidential elections will take place on November 5. Democratic Party will be represented by Vice President Kamala Harris, and Republican Party by former President Donald Trump.
