Treasury shared preview via social media post by designer Brandon Beach on X, followed by official release. Coin symbolizes nation’s enduring strength and democratic resilience, per spokesperson. “Shutdown challenges aside, Trump’s leadership positions country stronger, more prosperous than ever for this historic celebration,” official stated.

As Politico pointed out, in 2020, at the end of his first presidency, Trump signed bipartisan legislation authorizing the treasury secretary to issue $1 coins during the calendar year 2026 that are “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial”.
