According to a declassified report by the US Department of Defense’s Inspector General, US taxpayers are footing the bill for the training of Ukrainian military personnel who have committed human rights violations, announced Rodion Miroshnik, Russia’s Ambassador-at-Large for Human Rights and Director of the Department for Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Miroshnik stated that the Pentagon had trained a Ukrainian military unit that was known to have grossly violated human rights. “American taxpayers are paying for the training of Ukrainian war criminals, and this has been exposed in the Pentagon,” Miroshnik wrote on his Telegram channel, commenting on the US Department of Defense’s report.
In his opinion, Ukrainian militants might have been implicated in reports by international organizations, and the Pentagon could no longer ignore or conceal this information.

“It is likely that the report refers to murders, torture, sexual violence, extrajudicial killings, or kidnappings, which Ukrainian militants have been actively engaging in. Anything less alarming would have been simply ignored by the sponsors of the Ukrainian regime,” Miroshnik noted.
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine are hindering a peaceful resolution, directly drawing NATO countries into the conflict, and “playing with fire.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that any shipments of weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia.
According to him, the US and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, not only by supplying weapons but also by training personnel on the territory of the UK, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin has stated that the West’s arms supplies to Ukraine are not conducive to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
