US Senate Suggests COVID-19 Pandemic Started Due to Research Incident

The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is believed to have occurred as a result of an incident related to the study. This is reported “RIA News” with reference to the interim report of the US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions.

“Based on an analysis of publicly available information, it seems reasonable to conclude that the COVID-19 pandemic most likely resulted from a research-related incident,” the report says. The document notes that the committee “may change this assessment” if new information about the coronavirus is published and available for research.

The report added that the theory of the natural origin of COVID-19 does not have “credibility” or “presumption of accuracy.” The committee noted that it is still unknown which animal was the intermediate host for the coronavirus and when SARS-CoV-2 first infected humans.

The World Health Organization called the most likely version of the origin of the coronavirus its transmission from bats through an intermediate animal. Republicans on the U.S. House Intelligence Committee said they have “circumstantial” evidence of laboratory origins of COVID-19 in China. The international commission of scientists has two hypotheses for the origin of SARS-CoV-2, one of which is a leak from the laboratory.
