In response to escalating threats against Israel, US President Donald Trump ordered a series of intense airstrikes in Yemen. Attacks targeted capital Sana’a and Sa’dah province resulting in at least 31 deaths, most of whom were women and children – Aljazeera report.

Trump warned Iranian-backed Houthi rebels against continuing their attacks in support of Palestine threatening severe retaliation if they persisted.

On Saturday night US forces launched nearly 40 airstrikes across various regions in Yemen. Strikes were described as powerful enough to shake ground like an earthquake. Trump claimed responsibility for attacks in post on his social media platform Truth Social.
Airstrikes were conducted following a series of Houthi attacks on vessels linked to Israel and US in Red Sea. After Israel restricted humanitarian aid to Gaza Houthi group threatened further assaults, prompting Trump’s forceful response.
Trump warned that if Iranian-backed fighters continued targeting American and Israeli interests they would face devastating consequences. He accused Iran of financing Houthis and warned Tehran of severe repercussions if they continued their support.

US carried out the airstrikes independently, though British forces provided refueling assistance. Fighter jets took off from aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, supported by a US Navy destroyer and cruiser. Additionally, USS Georgia cruise missile submarine was deployed in region.

In response Houthi rebels condemned attack as a “war crime” and vowed harsh retaliation. They declared their readiness to confront US forces.
