Anurag Thakur on FATF Study: Union Minister Anurag Thakur targeted Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (Priyanka Gandhi) over the study of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Thakur said on Monday (March 13) that my question to Priyanka Gandhi is who forced Rana Kapoor to pay a bribe of Rs 2 crore to buy a painting. Who is Mr R who was involved in this, was it a painting for Padma Bhushan? How many Padma Awards, paintings were sold and money raised.

The Union Minister further said that one after the other corruption models of the Congress are coming to the fore. In fact, the Financial Action Task Force has released a case study on former Yes Bank CEO Rana Kapoor. According to it, Rana Kapoor had allegedly obtained awards by unfair means by purchasing a mediocre painting from the Congress. Rana Kapoor was arrested in a money laundering case of over Rs 460 crore. At present the investigation of the matter is going on.

What did FATF say in the study?

The FATF said that the former CEO of Yes Bank was ‘coerced’ to buy worthless paintings at exorbitant rates and was given prizes in return. FATF has released this case study titled ‘Buy Art with Illicit Proceeds and Use Art to Pay Bribes’. In this, Rana Kapoor was indirectly referred to as Mr. A. Along with this, he has also been accused of misusing his position.

Rana Kapoor had accused Priyanka Gandhi

The report mentions an incident of how Mr. A resorted to massive bribery to get the Padma Bhushan for himself. While his name has not been disclosed in the report, the incident focuses on Kapoor claiming on camera that he had bought a ‘worthless’ painting for crores of rupees under pressure from Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.
