UN Secretary-General expresses condolences over loss of life in South Korea


On the eve of his visit to South Korea, the UN Secretary General António Guterres expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims of heavy rains that hit the central regions of the country. It is reported by KBS.

It is reported that on August 11, the UN Secretary General arrives in Seoul from Ulaanbaatar.

During the visit, he will meet with the President of South Korea. Yoon Seok Yeolem and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pak chinomwith whom he will discuss international issues and the situation on the Korean Peninsula, including the denuclearization of the DPRK.

Recall that António Guterres visited South Korea in 2018, when the Winter Olympic Games were held in the city of Pyeongchang.

Meanwhile, the Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida also expressed condolences in connection with the death of people in South Korea, and also wished the people of the country to overcome the consequences of the disaster as soon as possible.
