Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft, Mi-8 helicopter and MLRS shells shot down – Ministry of Defense

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue a military special operation in Ukraine, during which aviation and air defense systems successfully counter threats from the air.

This is stated in the latest military summary Ministry of Defense, which was published on Thursday, May 18 on the official resources of the military department.

“Fighter aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the area of ​​​​the settlement of Slavyansk of the Donetsk People’s Republic shot down a Su-24 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force”, the statement says.

In addition, a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down by means of air defense in the area of ​​​​the settlement of Novopavlovka, Zaporozhye region.

It is also reported that over the past day, four rockets of HIMARS and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems were intercepted in the air.

“In addition, eleven Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Pologi, Romanovskoe, Zaporozhye region, Horlivka, Peski, Blagodatnoye, Volodino of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Nikolaevka, Novovodyanoye and Kremennaya of the Luhansk People’s Republic,” – said the Ministry of Defense.

According to the agency, since the start of the special military operation, the following have been destroyed: 428 aircraft, 234 helicopters, 4,208 unmanned aerial vehicles, 423 anti-aircraft missile systems, 9,218 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,100 combat vehicles of multiple launch rocket systems, 4,843 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 10284 units of special military vehicles.
