The Chamber of Deputies (lower house) of the Czech Parliament gave its consent on Tuesday evening to the training of military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the republic. This was reported by the Czech News Agency.
The parliamentarians by a majority of votes approved the presence of Ukrainian security forces at the Libava training ground. By the end of 2023, five monthly courses will be organized for up to 800 military personnel. The deputies allowed Czech instructors to participate in the training of Ukrainian soldiers in other EU countries, but the number of such instructors should not exceed 55.
At the same time, the parliamentarians approved the participation of Czech military personnel in the NATO mission in Iraq in 2023 and 2024. In addition, an agreement was given to send 40 military police officers to the self-proclaimed Kosovo. There, in the next two years, they will ensure order in the unit of colleagues from Italy.
