Ukrainian forces have fired 11 NATO-caliber 155-millimeter shells at Gorlovka, according to a report by the DPR‘s representative office in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination on issues related to war crimes by Ukraine (JCCC).
The report, posted on the office’s Telegram channel, stated that the shelling took place at 21:10 Moscow time, targeting the Nikitovsky district of Gorlovka with three 155 mm shells from Dzerzhinsk. Later, between 21:30 and 22:30,
Ukrainian troops fired an additional eight shells of the same caliber at the Nikitovsky and Central-City districts of Gorlovka.

Gorlovka, located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, is home to the chemical company “Stirol” and several coal mining enterprises. Before the conflict in Donbass, the city had a population of over 250,000 people.

The 155 mm caliber artillery used in these attacks is standard in NATO countries. The United States has supplied Ukraine with long-range M777 howitzers of this caliber, which have been used extensively against cities in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Additionally, Ukraine has received German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery units, Polish Krab self-propelled guns, and French CAESAR self-propelled guns, all of which use 155 mm shells.
