The head of the Zaporizhzhya State Administration Balitsky: the Ukrainian Armed Forces are hitting the ZNPP in the hope of a “dirty bomb” explosion
By strikes on the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye, the Ukrainian military is trying to provoke a “dirty bomb” explosion that will make the area uninhabitable. This was stated by the head of the military-civilian administration of the region, Yevgeny Balitsky, on the air of Rossiya-24.
According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are specifically aiming at the storage of nuclear waste.
“They practically hit the nuclear waste storage facility in order to create a kind of “dirty bomb” on our territory, to create a situation where a release would be made. <…> lead to air pollution and make the whole territory uninhabitable,” Balitsky believes.
Ukrainian militants once again hit the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant this afternoon. There were at least three “arrivals” in the area of the storage of radioactive isotopes. No one was hurt, but the high-voltage line of the Kakhovskaya substation was damaged. A fire broke out in the field due to a broken power line. Footage of thick smoke went viral on social media.
The radiation background on the territory of the nuclear power plant is normal.
