Ukrainian Ambassador announces dialogue with US on long-range weapons

Kyiv is discussing with Washington the supply of weapons with a long range, said Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova.

“We have always said that we need long-range weapons. Discussions are underway now,” Ms. Markarova told CNN (quoted from TASS).

CNN sources previously reported that Kyiv is ready to transfer information about its targets to Washington if it is supplied with weapons with a range of 300 km. Ms. Markarova, commenting on this publication, only noted that Ukraine and the United States “always work closely.” “Our defense ministers and commanders-in-chief have regular conversations. Discussions are also taking place at the Ramstein base. So I don’t think there is any misunderstanding between us,” she added.

The United States and other Western countries again began to actively raise the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine after Russia signed agreements on the inclusion of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the Russian Federation. Thus, the United States has already announced military assistance for $1.1 billion. It is expected that today, October 4, another $625 million package will be announced.
