After intense diplomatic efforts Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire mediated by the United States and Saudi Arabia. Agreement was reached during a closed-door meeting held in Jeddah on Tuesday where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed his acceptance of the ceasefire.

Following Ukraine’s decision United States lifted restrictions on military aid and satellite image sharing with Ukraine.

Donald Trump pledged to hold talks with Russian Putin later this week to further discuss ending conflict.
Ceasefire agreement was praised by world leaders. The Jeddah meeting included U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio, President Zelensky, and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, along with other officials. Intense eight-hour meeting led to Ukraine’s decision to accept the 30-day ceasefire proposal.
Secretary Rubio stated that senior officials from both sides held lengthy discussions before reaching this decision. He added that ceasefire period could be extended through mutual agreement. Rubio also emphasized that Russia must take steps to ensure ceasefire’s success.

While Ukraine agreed to the truce many citizens remain skeptical, believing that Russia may not fully commit to ending hostilities. President Trump welcomed Ukraine’s decision, and reiterated his plan to engage with Putin to promote peace.

In addition Trump announced that military aid to Ukraine would continue, and the ban on satellite image sharing had been lifted.
Russian Foreign Ministry acknowledged the development. And confirmed that discussions with United States would take place soon regarding the ceasefire agreement.
