Two women detained in Uzbekistan for planning to sell newborn children

Police officers detained two residents of Tashkent who decided to sell their own newborn children. How informs publication, now they face a prison term.

According to media reports, a 36-year-old native of the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region, was detained while trying to sell her two-month-old son for $40,000. In addition, another “unfortunate mother” was also arrested by the police, who wanted to receive 20 thousand dollars for her newborn daughter.

A criminal case has been initiated against women under the article on human trafficking. If they are found guilty, they can spend up to 12 years behind bars.
