“Two strategic missile carriers Tu-95MS of long-range aviation performed a scheduled flight in the airspace over the neutral waters of the Sea of ​​Japan,” the report said.

It is specified that the flight lasted more than seven hours. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense added that fighter escort was provided by the crews of Su-35S Su-30SM aircraft of the air defense and air force formations of the Eastern Military District.

The ministry noted that long-range aviation pilots constantly fly over the neutral waters of the North Atlantic, the Arctic, the Baltic and Black Seas, and the Pacific Ocean. All flights of aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace, the department stressed.
