Amid concerns about his health and growing criticism, President Joe Biden decided not to seek re-election for a second term and instead nominated Harris as his replacement.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5. Former President Donald Trump has been officially nominated by the Republican Party for the position of head of state, with Ohio Senator J.D. Vance approved as his vice presidential candidate.
