From the moment Donald Trump took office as U.S. President his approach seemed reckless. From Greenland to Panama Canal he wanted control over everything.

Trump issued a strong ultimatum for release of Israeli hostages. On his social media platform Truth Social he warned Hamas for last time—if hostages were not freed no one would be left alive. To ensure this, he sent all kinds of military aid to Israel.
Just hours before Trump’s warning White House revealed that U.S. had directly met with Hamas. During a press conference on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Carolyn David confirmed this but shared no details.
However, multiple media reports suggested that talks aimed to secure release of American hostages held by Hamas. This was the first direct discussion between two sides since the U.S. labeled Hamas a terrorist group in 1997.

Trump’s administration’s move sparked curiosity as U.S. had never engaged in direct negotiations with Hamas before.
