In a surprising move U.S. President Donald Trump has appointed a 13-year-old boy as an honorary Secret Service agent. During his first speech to Congress after assuming office for his second term Trump honored DJ Daniel a teenager battling a rare form of cancer with this special recognition. This unexpected gesture received praise from both Republicans and Democrats alike.

During a joint session of U.S. Congress – Trump made an emotional announcement, appointing young DJ Daniel as an honorary Secret Service agent. Decision took everyone by surprise and was met with a standing ovation.

Daniel, 13-year-old from Texas diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2018. Since then, he has undergone six brain surgeries. Despite his struggles he always dreamed of becoming police officer and on this historic day that dream came true.
Dressed in a Houston Police Department uniform Daniel attended session from gallery. During his speech Trump shared Daniel’s inspiring story with nation:
“DJ Daniel always dreamed of becoming a police officer. But in 2018, he diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. He never gave up. For the past six years DJ Daniel and his father have fought courageously. Today his dream comes true. I am officially appointing DJ Daniel as an honorary Secret Service agent of United States.”

Following Trump’s announcement, Secret Service Director Son Karan administered the honorary oath, officially making Daniel a member of the agency.
Trump didn’t stop there. He invited Daniel and his family to Oval Office, where the young boy shared a heartfelt moment with the president. Daniel embraced Trump and shook hands with him, while his father also expressed gratitude for the honor.
Following announcement a past video of Daniel resurfaced on social media showing him being harassed and mocked for wearing a police uniform. Clip sparked outrage among netizens, who condemned the mistreatment he faced.
Doctors had initially given Daniel only five months to live after his diagnosis in 2018. However, defying all odds he survived multiple surgeries and continued his fight.

His resilience and courage have now earned him a place in history as the youngest-ever honorary member of U.S. Secret Service.
