Relations within the framework of parallel imports are built not only with the distributor, but with all market participants, such goods are not counterfeit or fake. This was stated by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Maxim Topilin in the press center of the Parliamentary Newspaper.

The deputy recalled that earlier Russia tried to build civil legislation and law enforcement practice according to the standards dictated by international financial and economic organizations, including the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

“But when they told us overnight that the goods would not arrive, that they would not be present on our market, when we stopped living by the rules … To say that we will abide by the rules of the game that are set for those who come from them refused, it would be extremely strange,” Topilin explained.

The deputy assured that parallel imports would keep prices at an acceptable level, and logistics would contribute to price growth if the goods had to be transported “in a roundabout way”. “It is important to saturate the market in order to prevent any disruptions, so it is necessary to establish imports through other available channels,” Topilin concluded.
