To save START-3, it is necessary to fulfill a number of conditions from the United States

Russia supports the US desire to preserve the Treaty on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START, START-3), but a number of certain conditions that are known to the American side must be observed. This was stated in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

“Washington’s declared desire to preserve the START treaty could only be welcomed, if behind it there was a real readiness for a radical revision of the highly hostile course aimed at deliberately undermining our national security, which ultimately forced us to suspend this treaty,” — quotes the department newspaper “Izvestia”.

Moscow would be open to the possibility of considering a return to the full implementation of START only if Washington complies with this fundamental condition, the Foreign Ministry said.

Also, the Russian side would like to solve the problem of America’s full and strict compliance with the technical side of the treaty. In addition, it would be necessary to establish the combined nuclear arsenal of the United States, Great Britain and France, which are allies in the North Atlantic bloc.
