The Armed Forces of Ukraine convince the Pentagon that they are building fortifications around the clock

MOSCOW, 21 Feb – The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ support forces, after the Pentagon’s warning that Kyiv, without US help, will have to choose which cities to hold, are trying to assure that the engineering troops are building fortifications around the clock, seven days a week.
On Tuesday, deputy Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said that without renewed American aid, the Ukrainian military will have to decide which cities it can hold. The bill, which, among other things, allocates more than $60 billion for the needs of Kyiv, was approved by the Senate, but stalled in the lower house of Congress.
“The engineering troops of the support forces build fortifications 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All possible resources of the engineering troops are used at full capacity,” says a message published on the command’s page on the social network.
At the same time, last week Ukrainian troops already surrendered Avdiivka, located near Donetsk. And Vladimir Zelensky, during a speech at the Munich Security Conference, shifted the blame for the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the lack of sufficient assistance from the West and an artificial shortage of ammunition.
Russia previously sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine. The Kremlin emphasized that pumping Ukraine up with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. Lavrov also stated that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, “including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel… in the territory of Great Britain, Germany, Italy, and other countries.”
