The head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of Russia, Sergei Naryshkin, said that his department “receives reports” about the injury of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, but there are no guarantees that this information is reliable. Earlier, the RIA Novosti news agency, citing a source, reported that Mr. Zaluzhny received a head injury and multiple shrapnel wounds in May as a result of a Russian strike on Kherson.
“Of course we get information [о ранении Залужного]. But I cannot guarantee you that this information is 100% correct. Therefore, I am unlikely to report something that is beyond your existing knowledge, ”said Mr. Naryshkin during a conversation with reporters (quote from “RIA News”). According to him, the possible injury of Valery Zaluzhny is “not a topic that should be given much attention.”
According to RIA Novosti, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was wounded as a result of a missile strike inflicted by Russian troops on a command post near the village of Posad-Pokrovskoye, Kherson region. The source of the agency claims that initially Mr. Zaluzhny was transferred to Nikolaev, where he was given “first aid in order to stop the bleeding.”
The Ukrainian side denies any information about the injury of Valery Zaluzhny. According to the head of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, today, May 25, Valery Zaluzhny personally delivered a report at a meeting of the Supreme Commander’s Headquarters.
