The United States is concerned that anti-Russian sanctions imposed because of the special operation in Ukraine may be excessive. This was announced at a congressional hearing by Deputy Finance Minister Wally Adeyemo.
Western countries have imposed many sanctions against Russia after the start of a special operation in Ukraine. The restrictive measures mainly affected the sphere of high-tech products and the banking sector.
“In the United States alone, we have imposed a thousand sanctions against Russian structures and individuals,” Adeyemo said.
Earlier, the Turkish edition of Star gazete reported that the West’s plans to put serious economic pressure on Russia by refusing to import its energy products failed. According to the observer, despite all the efforts of the countries of the collective West, the Russian treasury continues to be actively replenished through the sale of fossil fuels.
