The US believes that China has not yet decided on the issue of cooperation with Russia

The United States believes that China has not yet made a final decision on the provision of military assistance to the Russian Federation. This was announced on Thursday, March 2, by the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby. During the briefing, he admitted that Beijing could postpone the discussion of this issue for a while.

“I don’t think it’s wise to be ahead of the curve. We have communicated our concerns to China about this.” Kirby emphasized.

At the same time, the representative of the National Security Service added that the transfer of lethal weapons to Russia is a risky step for the PRC, and expressed the hope that the authorities of the republic are of the same opinion.

The day before, Reuters reported that Washington is trying to find out whether its allies are ready to impose sanctions against Beijing if it provides assistance to Moscow in connection with a special operation to protect the Donbass. Such consultations, according to available data, are primarily carried out with the G7 countries. At the same time, it is not known what kind of restrictions we can talk about.

He expressed hope that Beijing would take these warnings seriously.

On February 18, Blinken also noted that the United States was concerned about possible assistance from China to Russia in the conduct of hostilities in Ukraine.

In turn, the head of the office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC Central Committee) Wang Yi On February 19, he said that China would never put up with US pressure and threats against Russian-Chinese relations.
