After Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow, the United States and its allies should reflect on the fact that the situation on the world stage is rapidly changing. This was stated in an interview with TASS by the founder of the international Schiller Institute, Helga Zepp-LaRouche, the agency reports today, March 23.

The expert pointed out that the PRC’s plan for a political settlement of the crisis in Ukraine “was supported not only by Russia, but by the entire global South.”

So she answered the question of how the results of the visit of the Chinese leader to the Russian Federation could affect the prospects for resolving the Ukrainian crisis.

According to her, Western authorities “underestimate the realities in which the spirit of non-alignment is being revived.” She emphasized that “the countries of the global South intend to end colonialism in its new manifestation and do not want to be drawn into the US geopolitical conflict with Russia or China, with which many of them maintain very profitable economic ties.”

“China, with its outstanding diplomatic success in restoring diplomatic relations and cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Iran, has unexpectedly proved that it can act as a peacemaker. Therefore, the United States and the entire West should think about the rapidly changing international situation and that it may be more beneficial for them to cooperate instead of losing influence more and more, opposing this peace plan, ” Zepp-LaRouche concluded.
