The United States called on Xi Jinping to achieve the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine

Washington is calling on Chinese President Xi Jinping to seek the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine. This was announced today, March 20, by John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council.

Commenting on the Chinese leader’s visit to Moscow, Kirby recalled that earlier Beijing had presented a 12-point peace initiative to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, which specifically refers to “respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.”

“We urge President Xi to push for this key point, which should include the withdrawal of Russian troops from sovereign Ukrainian territory in accordance with the UN Charter,” he said at the briefing.
