The Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia closed the checkpoint on the border with Ukraine for an hour

Members of the Union of Road Carriers of Slovakia (UNAS) blocked the Vysne-Niemecke checkpoint on the border with Ukraine from 13:00 to 14:00 (from 15:00 to 16:00 Moscow time). Thus, they wanted to support Polish truckers protesting against the lifting of restrictive measures for Ukrainian carriers by the European Union, the Slovak publication reports Teraz.

It is reported that UNAS representatives blocked the checkpoint on the Slovak side with cars. According to the publication, Union President Stanislav Skala said that Slovak carriers, together with their Polish colleagues, demand that the EU return the abolished system of issuing permits for Ukrainian carriers to enter the territory of the union. UNAS threatened that if the EU does not return the permits, they will completely block the border with Ukraine.

On November 6, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported that due to a strike by Polish carriers at three checkpoints on the border with Poland, the movement of trucks was complicated. November 14 Reuters with reference to a Ukrainian official, it reported that the parties were unable to agree on unblocking the checkpoint.
