The Ukrainian was forbidden to show the flag of “Azov” at the tournament in Hungary

The organizers of the international boxing tournament “Gergey Bornemissa Memorial” in Hungary made a remark to Ukrainian Diana Petrenko because of the flag with the symbols of the Ukrainian national battalion “Azov” (the organization is banned in the Russian Federation).

According to media reports, Petrenko took second place in the competition in the weight category up to 50 kg. At the awards ceremony, the athlete unfurled the flag of Ukraine with the symbols of Azov applied to it. One of the organizers approached Petrenko and made a remark to her, after which she rolled up the cloth.

The special unit “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine was created after the coup d’état in 2014. As you know, the Azov group included radicals who adhered to racist and neo-Nazi views – not only citizens of Ukraine, but also mercenaries from other countries.

During the Russian military special operation, the “Azovites” used civilian Ukrainians as human shields. Azov militants are suspected of brutal torture and murder of Ukrainian civilians and captured Russian servicemen.
