The organizers of the international youth boxing tournament “Gergey Bornemissa Memorial” in Hungary banned Ukrainian Diana Petrenko, who won second place in the weight category up to 50 kilograms, from showing the flag of Ukraine with the symbols of the Azov battalion (recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia). She had to remove the banner after a remark made by one of the organizers of the tournament.

At the awards ceremony, the athlete unfurled the flag of Ukraine, with the symbols of the battalion applied to it. One of the organizers approached the athlete, after which she had to remove the cloth. The video was posted on the Youtube channel of the competition.

Earlier it was reported that the racer Artem Severyukhin showed a gesture that looked like a Nazi salute. Swedish team Ward Racing terminated Severyukhin’s contract due to this gesture. The athlete himself said that he only thanked his team and did not foresee that this gesture could be regarded as “bad”. The head of the Motor Sports Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region, Yevgeny Fomichev, told URA.RU that the “Roman salute” shown by Severyukhin differs from the fascist greeting. Sports commentator and journalist Vasily Utkin stood up for 15-year-old sports racer from Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk region) Artem Severyukhin.
