The State Duma called for a ban on the sale of alcohol at night in establishments located in residential buildings

In Russian society, there is a request for a complete ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages in apartment buildings. This was stated in an interview with URA.RU by a member of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, the head of the Sober Russia movement, Biysultan Khamzaev.

Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that Russians complained about the work of “liquor stores” in residential buildings that “sell alcohol at night like pseudo-cafes.” It is planned to create a working group in the lower house of parliament to develop a bill to combat such establishments.

“People are demanding much more concrete steps. This is confirmed by sociology, which is carried out by both independent and interested people. More than 80% of citizens are critical of the sale of alcohol in residential apartment buildings in general. And we are talking about what should be banned at least at night,” said Biysultan Khamzaev.

“People have a wider request than the law that is being prepared now. The law can hardly be called exaggerated. I believe that we should secure the sleeping area of apartment buildings from alcohol stores and similar things. When will we get there? The question is open, but in this case, when we are talking about liqueurs, there must be a complete ban on the sale at night, ”added the parliamentarian.
