The Speaker of the House of Representatives proposed funding the government without aid to Ukraine and Israel

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson (Republican Party) introduced a bill on temporary funding for the federal government. He proposes not to include aid to Ukraine and Israel and funds to protect the US southern border. The White House called the bill frivolous.

If the bill is not passed by November 17, the federal government will be shut down. Mr. Johnson’s plan provides for the continuation of funding for a number of government programs and departments until January 19, 2024, others until February 2, reports The Hill. According to the speaker, the issue of allocating funds to help Israel, Ukraine and to strengthen the border should be considered in isolation from the bill on government financing in order to avoid a shutdown.
