Moscow, February 20, 2023, 17:56 — REGNUM At the end of next month, the damaged Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft will be returned to Earth, Vladimir Solovyov, flight director of the Russian segment of the ISS, said on the air of Rossiya 24 on February 20.
“In the unmanned mode, which we are going to implement at the end of March, we can count on the success of the return of this Soyuz,” Solovyov said.
The general designer for Russian manned complexes and systems also said that the return to the ground of the Soyuz MS-22 was impossible in manned mode due to a damaged thermal control system, because “people are very active heat sources.”
Recall that the damage to the thermal control system of the Soyuz MS-22 occurred in the middle of last December: the outer contour of the radiator of the thermal control system was depressurized on the ship. This happened, as it turned out later, due to the impact of a sporadic meteoroid.
