The section of the railway damaged by the explosion in the Ryazan region has been restored

The section of the railway on the Rybnoye-Blokpost section in the Ryazan region, damaged by the explosion on November 11, has been restored and traffic is open on it. Today, November 12, at 15:34 Moscow time, the first freight train passed through the restored section, the press service of Russian Railways reported in Telegram.

It is reported that during the restoration efforts, railway workers removed 19 derailed cars, laid 175 m of new rail and sleeper grating, installed 300 m of overhead contact suspension, and replaced the overhead contact network support.

On November 11 at 07:12 Moscow time, an improvised explosive device was detonated on the 190th km of the third main route between Rybnoye and Blokpost stations. As a result, 19 cars of a freight train traveling from the Titan station to the Yulievka station derailed.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case about a terrorist attack (paragraphs “a”, “c”, part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and illegal acquisition of explosives (paragraph “a”, part 3 of Article 222.1). As a result of the incident, 15 cars were damaged, the damage caused is being established. The Western Interregional Transport Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the driver and his assistant were injured as a result. Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor’s Office clarifiedthat the train was transporting mineral fertilizers.
