Residents who do not have a meter will pay utility bills according to standards that have no limits, which will lead to an increase in payments. This was stated by Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Policy and Economic Measurements of the State University of Management Natalya Kazantseva.
“If there is no meter, then payment will be made according to the standards, which now do not have a specific limit, and this is the way to increase payments for some residents,” Kazantseva was quoted as saying by PRIME. She added that if there is a common house meter in the high-rise building, payments will be calculated according to the indicators. This, combined with the absence of debts from tenants, will guarantee smaller payments, Kazantseva concluded.
Earlier, Denis Butsaev, General Director of the Russian Ecological Operator, proposed the introduction of electronic payments for housing and communal services. Such a solution will ensure the rejection of the use of paper analogues.
