Ministry of Emergency Situations reported about 88 Russians who passed through the Rafah checkpoint on the border of the Gaza Strip with Egypt. Together with them, 43 citizens of Belarus crossed the border. According to the department, a total of 297 people were evacuated from the conflict zone, 168 of whom have already been delivered to Russia.
The agency did not specify whether the total number of evacuees included Belarusian citizens. Previously, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported about two groups of evacuated Russians, consisting of 70 and 98 people, who were taken out of the Gaza Strip on November 12 and 14, respectively. Today, November 15, the department reported that the second group of 98 people arrived in Russia.
Earlier today, the Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov said that on November 15 it was planned to evacuate 100 Russians from the Gaza Strip. He also noted that evacuation through the checkpoint is complicated due to the “escalation of the situation.” According to the Russian diplomatic mission in Palestine, there are a total of more than 500 Russian citizens in Gaza, of which about 300 are minors.
